How To Rank Your Content Better In Search Engines- What Is SEO

Let’s talk about here, ‘ How To Rank Your Content Better In Search Engines- What Is SEO’.

What is SEO

SEO is a process of techniques to increase the number of visitors to a particular website by obtaining a high ranking placement in the search result page of a search engine (SERP)  such as Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.

SEO and Online Marketing

Let’s get clear on Marketing basics first;

  • Know what you are offering
  • Pick specific Target Market
  • Keyword Research
  • Create Content
  • Promote content to Rank

There are mainly three types of traffic

Organic Search (search engines)

Paid Traffic/ Ads (fb paid ads craigslist etc.)

Direct Traffic (social media)

80 percent of the entire traffic is generated through organic search.

How SEO Works

While writing a blog article or making a youtube video our number goal should be to rank higher. So that people can find us and like our info. Target should be to rank on the first page and then on top 2-3 listed sites.

Google’s has an algorithm which mathematically ranks webpages and videos. There are more than 200 search factors that go into play for ranking webpages on the internet.

But the good news news is you don’t have to learn all that. Most importantly, there are mainly top 3 ranking factors that need to be paid attention to while writing your content.

*Relevant content

*Authority Links

*Rank Brain

So, here I’m going to explain all these above three factors one by one, so that you’ve a clear picture of the topic I’m talking about- What is SEO. In other words what is search engine Optimization.

Firstly let me explain what is relevant content.

RELEVENT CONTENT

Your content should be original and high quality. Your content should have relevant keywords which people are searching out for your target market.

There are many tools to generate relevant keywords such as

Google Keyword planner,

Keywords Everywhere

SEO Book Keyword Tool

Advanced Marketing Institute

And many more

Let me explain here, how keywords selection works;

For instance, suppose your article here is ‘How to generate mlm leads’. Relevant keyword here is ‘mlm lead generation’.

So this keyword should be in the title of the article, in the first paragraph of the content, in the last paragraph, ideally one or 2 images linked to the key phrase. And video title should have the same keyword phrase.

Secondly, what are authority links or backlinks.

BACKLINKS

The number one way to get your content rank high on the search engines is to get a steady-stream of high quality websites, blogs and article directories to link back to your content.

Each one way back link you get from another authority site is considered by Google to be a ‘vote’ your content is worthy of being ranked higher in the search results.

Consequently, get the most votes and you win front-page ranking!

But there is one important challenge that you need to be aware of.

Google knows we know getting more backlinks is the name of the game. So every once in a while they change how they value certain types of links and they actively de-index and de-value any type of link they discover to be artificially created.

To clarify, Google wants high quality original content, high domain authority, lots of social media engagement and lots and lots of backlinks.

Thirdly, what does Rank Brain means here.

How to Rank your content better in search engines- What is SEO

RANK BRAIN

It is a search algorithm that helps Google to process search results and provide more relevant search results for users.

And it is responsible for the 30% of the search results, how they rank your site on the search engines.

The top boxed article which appears when we search something is the result of rank brain and this is called ‘Featured Snippet’ inside the ’Featured Snippet Box’.

About 50% of searches go to featured snippet box and rest 50% belong to the rest no 1, 2 or 3 listed sites.

Featured snippet is at position zero.

However, question is how you can be at position zero, answer is – go 10x your content.

Featured Snippet is usually 3 or more lines long, it is not 1 or 2 lines like the 1st ranked site or 2nd or 3rd site. In other words, your content or informative paragraph can never be in the featured snippet box’, if it is only one line in the search pages.

Moreover, google’s Featured Snippets and the rise of “voice search optimization” has made optimizing your content for question based queries more important than ever.

As you may have seen, these Featured Snippets pop up in position zero after asking or typing a question in Google’s search bar. The benefit of earning a snippet is now clear to businesses and brands.”

Accordingly, you may want to optimize this to the tune of Google’s algorithms. And research has found that word count makes a big difference. “The most common length of content in Featured Snippets is between 40-50 words,” according to an analysis by SEMrush.

Most importantly, the whole content of the blog post itself should be a long and an informative article. Usually word count for a good blog post can range from 1000 to 2500 words.

So, in conclusion, writing a good length and optimized blog post is better and more searchable. And therefore, it can qualify to be found on the first page of the search engines.

So, go earn position zero by writing a great content.
