Nobody like to hear no while prospecting. The reality is we get more no than yes. Does that means we are doing something wrong – the answer is definitely no. Even if the answer is yes still we learn to to do something better next time.
If you keep the following main three tips in mind, you can convert an unwanted no into a yes.
Walk away from the need.
If you are being a very needy person, your energy can be pushy not attractive. When you’re just being a mentor or a coach who is introducing them something new without being emotionally attached to the outcome then it is a win win situation at both the ends. Say thanks to them for being honest in telling that they’re not interested. Ask to give them a call in a month or two or whatever period they agree to, to see if that will be right time to talk about your offer or opportunity. if you’re not being pushy or needy, you’ll get a yes. One yes can lead to another yes and to another and so on.

Make it about the prospect
Make it about the other person, not about yourself. Ask them the questions. Appreciate or compliment them if you find something about them. Ask them about their family, their job and their goals. Do not talk elaborately about yourself, only talk about your story how it got you from point A to point B so that they can relate with it and see themselves doing the same steps to fulfill their desires. Listen to them with genuine interest. Listen to their story where they are at and where they want to go so that you can help them accomplish that. Let them talk about what is working for them and what is not working for them so that you can offer the solution.
Right way of communication
Learn what to say, when to say and which tone of voice to use. Learn when to talk and when to pause at the right time. Ask them question that get them qualify themselves. Seek to be impressed than to be the impresser. Make notes of their conversations so that when you are calling next time you haven’t forgotten what they told you.
Good communication is the bridge between confusion and clarity. Share on XIf you keep all the above tips in mind, you’ll get a yes right away or sometimes later down the road.
Happy prospecting.
