Content marketing is very important part of social media marketing. Content is king, as often described. If you are on social media creating content then why not create a content strategy that brings the maximum engagement and traffic. Let’s explore the topic of today- 8 Tips For Best Content Creation

You can find out what works best for you. How many times a day you want to post on a social media platform. And then show up regularly. Showing up everyday builds trust, so that your community is looking forward to your valuable posts that can inspire, educate, inform and entertain them.

Scheduling– Create and manage your content for days and weeks. You can schedule your posts ahead of time. Planning ahead of your time, leaves a lot of room for creativity. You can also organize your content according to the days of the week. For example – Motivational Monday posts or Throwback Thursday posts. There are many apps for scheduling your content, eg RecurPost, Co-schedule, IFTTT, HootSuite etc.  I use Canva for scheduling my posts on different social media platforms.

Photo posts– Posts with photos bring more engagement and more visibility than the post that only have text.  Photo posts are more pleasing to the eye.  And more entertaining, as many of the times people on social media are there for entertainment or education. And not to shop or buy anything. All social media are photo friendly. Instagram and Pinterest have very visual and rich photos to engage with.

Call to actionTell your people what you want them to do on your page or blog. If you want them to ‘like’ the post tell them so.  Or, if you want them to click the link tell them ‘click now’. May be, you want your audience to download your freebie, then tell them so ‘download now’. People are ok when you tell them what to do with clear-cut directions.

Asking questions– Asking question within your posts can help increase engagement dramatically. People have to pause and think about the answer for a minute or two, instead of just clicking and downloading something. It gives you a lot of information about their interests, needs and pain points. Then you can create more custom tailored content for them to stay connected with you. And more likely to buy from you instead of your competitor.

Engage independently– Its very easy to fall in the trap of automation for your posts on different social medias, so avoid that. If you’re just automating your posts and not present there to engage with you community, it doesn’t leave a good impression for your brand. Be present to engage.  And answer the questions of your audience on different social medias.

Hold contests– Hold contests to give out freebies, discounts or any free giveaways. I If your audience knows you give out freebies e.g.. ebook, pdf or discovery call etc. they are more likely to checkout your site or page regularly. It creates a buzz and action around your brand faster. And plus it increases engagement and action on your page or website many folds compared to no contest.

Cross promote– You can promote your social media posts by letting your audience know about them. Suppose you have a contest or freebie on Facebook then you can also let your audience on Instagram or Twitter page to tell them to go check it out there.

Or if you have a new blog post on your website or blog, then you can let your community know about it on Facebook, twitter or Pinterest etc. Another way to cross promote is through your autoresponder. You can email your list and educate them about your contest, discount or freebie on any social media.
